Finding Contentment
Hebrews 13:5
“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
-Hebrews 13:5
Do you ever feel discontent with what you have?
If you’re like me, it’s easy to fall prey to the temptation of envy, especially when it comes to money and finances.
Your neighbor just bought that new car you’ve been eyeing. You found out that your coworker makes more than you. A friend at church just moved into a massive new house in the neighborhood you’ve always wanted to live in.
No matter how much you have, comparison will always be a thief of joy. You’ll never find contentment if you’re comparing yourself to others.
The Bible teaches us that God will never leave us or forsake us. Regardless of our salary, our finances, our belongings, the knowledge that God is always with us should provide ultimate contentment.
Where are you feeling discontent in your life? How can you recognize that God is always with you?
