Serving the Lord

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

-Joshua 24:15

Who is your household serving?

It’s a simple question. But for many dads, the answer can be difficult.

We know that our families are called to serve the Lord. As fathers, we are responsible for leading our families in such a way that we can accomplish that mission.

But it starts with us.

If we aren’t serving the Lord through everything we do, our families won’t serve the Lord either. If we aren’t actively leading our families in continual prayer and worship, our families won’t fall into patterns of prayer and worship on their own.

We’re the leaders of our household. We’re the leaders of our families. And as leaders, we will be held responsible if we fail to lead our families to lives of servitude for the Lord.
